Dr. Amy Kaji

Bio

I currently serve as the interim chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Harbor-UCLA, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. I completed my residency training at Harbor-UCLA in 2002 and then completed a fellowship in research and disaster medicine, during which time I achieved my PhD in epidemiology at the UCLA School of Public Health. Focusing on research methodology, I have been fortunate to serve as a statistical and methodological consultant for various projects and thereby author or co-author over 170 peer-reviewed publications. Additionally, I serve as a statistical and methodological editor for Annals of Emergency Medicine and JAMA Surgery. Due to my love for writing, I also serve as one of the section editors for Rosen’s 10th edition of its emergency medicine textbook. Nationally, I currently serve as the President of SAEM and am an active member of the Scientific Review Committee for the ACEP research committee. I serve on the UCLA Department of Emergency Medicine Academic Promotions Committee and have reviewed many dossiers.
